Faya patterns include a cutting plan and fabric suggestion. If you prefer a different fabric with another width, please determine your exact fabric needs.
Do not calculate the fabric requirement too tightly because fabrics can shrink up to 5% during washing, or do have small/large pattern repeats and therefore need more space when cutting.
Bust
Use the different sizes of your pattern for your personal fit.
Waist
Example dress.
Measure the relevant values for bust, waist and hips. Find the values in the size chart and the corresponding size points on the pattern. Connect the dots harmoniously and then cut out your customized pattern.
Hips
Are you significantly taller or shorter than 168 cm [ 5'6'' ]? Adjust your pattern.
1. First, draw alteration lines in all necessary pattern pieces. [ e.g. front and back ]
2. Determine the amount you want to extend or shorten
1. Cut the pattern along your marked alteration lines.
2. Move the parts on top of each other or apart by the amount to be changed [ put a paper underneath ]. In case of two alteration lines, distribute the amount evenly or as required.
3. Draw a new harmonic contour.
4. Cut out the new pattern piece.
